PCH Board Chairman Mike Minert Honored for Nearly 15 Years of Leadership
Pender, Neb. (October 26, 2026) – Pender Community Health (PCH) Board Chairman Mike Minert has been named one of the 2026 Trustee of the Year Award recipients by the Nebraska Hospital Association (NHA). The award recognizes outstanding leadership in hospital governance, a commitment to excellence in healthcare and dedication to building community support for local hospitals.
Minert was recognized during the NHA Annual Convention Awards Banquet on October 21 in La Vista, Nebraska.
Since being elected to the PCH Board of Directors in May 2012, Minert has played an important role in guiding the organization’s growth and strengthening access to healthcare throughout northeast Nebraska. During his tenure, PCH has achieved several significant milestones, including the construction of new medical clinics in Pender and Emerson, the opening of Little Sprouts Child Development Center, expanded pharmacy services, the transition to an independent healthcare organization in 2021 and an affiliation with Bryan Health in 2025.
“Mike’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping Pender Community Health into the organization it is today,” said Laura Gamble, CEO of Pender Community Health. “His thoughtful approach, financial expertise and genuine commitment to our patients, staff and community have made a lasting impact. Mike leads with humility and always puts the needs of others first. We are incredibly grateful for his service and proud to see him receive this well-deserved recognition.”
In addition to his service on the PCH Board, Minert has served on the Pender Community Health Care Foundation Board since 2014. His community involvement includes leadership roles with the Pender Chamber of Commerce, economic development, church organizations and the Heritage Museum of Thurston County, along with coaching youth sports.
Minert’s more than 40-year banking career, beginning at Pender State Bank in 1985 and continuing through its transitions to Frontier Bank and Equity Bank, has provided valuable financial expertise throughout his board service. Known for his quiet, thoughtful leadership and dedication to others, Minert has helped position PCH for continued growth while supporting its mission to be the best place to get care and the best place to give care.
