Emergency Services at Pender Community Hospital
When immediate help with a health condition is needed for you, a family member, a friend, or someone you just met, the Pender Community Hospital Emergency Department is here to provide the expert emergency care that’s needed.
Comprehensive Emergency Care Services
Our emergency department is certified as a Level 4 Trauma Center by the Nebraska Statewide Trauma System and is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Nebraska Statewide Trauma System standardizes trauma care throughout the state, and a Level 4 distinction means PCH provides basic trauma care, from treating minor traumas to stabilizing major traumas prior to transfer to a higher level of care. In order to receive the certification, PCH had to meet rigid criteria, particularly in performance improvement, nurse and provider education, and community outreach education.
The team behind the certification is an extremely skilled, compassionate staff that includes doctors, nurses, physician assistants, on-call specialists, and support staff. Additionally, laboratory and medical imaging are always available. Plus, supporting our emergency capabilities are:
- Local EMS
- Midwest Medical Transport
- Wings Air Rescue, Sioux City
- LifeNet Air Methods, Norfolk or Omaha
