What is WOC Care
Our WOC care nurse, under the direction of the medical providers, offers treatment options to help heal chronic and non-healing wounds, providing doctors and nurses with a proven resource focusing on positive outcomes for their patients.
This type of specialized nursing care focuses on treating chronic wounds, ostomy, or continence conditions, issues, and disorders that patients are unable to manage and care for on their own. These are wounds that have not significantly improved during the course of conventional treatment.
Patients of all ages—from infants to adults, children and the elderly—may require this type of care at any point in their lives.

The philosophy behind WOC is that it’s imperative a patient’s wound is properly dressed, cleaned and protected. This is critical in the success of a wound properly healing, which is why it’s not only important for patients to keep their scheduled appointments with the WOC department, but properly manage their own care at home.
We offer individualized education and training to our patients—along with their caregivers—to help speed up the healing process. Our structured program also helps prevent recurrences.
