Pender Community Hospital Welcomes Pain Management Specialist Dr. Wade Lukken
Pender, Neb. (July 14, 2025) – Pender Community Hospital (PCH) is proud to welcome Dr. Wade Lukken, a board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management specialist.
Dr. Lukken began seeing patients at PCH on June 18 and now visits once a month through a partnership with Dunes Pain Clinic. His monthly visits provide scheduled specialty pain care to patients as part of the hospital’s ongoing commitment to expand access to high-quality pain services in the region.
Dr. Lukken brings extensive experience in treating both chronic and acute pain conditions and is dedicated to helping patients find meaningful relief through personalized care, so they can return to the activities they love.
A Nebraska native, Dr. Lukken earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska School of Medicine in Omaha. He went on to complete his internship at Broadlawns Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa, followed by a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Michigan Medical System in Ann Arbor. He now holds board certification from the American Board of Anesthesiology, reflecting his training and commitment to excellence in patient care.
With a strong focus on patient comfort and long-term outcomes, Dr. Lukken uses a range of treatment techniques tailored to each individual’s needs. His monthly visits to PCH allow patients to access expert pain management services close to home—without the long travel or wait times often required for specialty care.
