Pender, Neb. (May 5, 2025) – Pender Community Hospital and Medical Clinics (PCH) is proud to announce a new partnership with Pioneer Ambulance, an advanced ambulance service that will be based directly at the hospital to provide dedicated, around-the-clock patient transfer services.

This collaboration brings faster, more reliable care to the community, ensuring patients have quicker access to the specialized services they need. With Pioneer Ambulance’s new fleet of ambulances, equipped with the latest cardiac monitors and life-saving equipment, patients will experience shorter wait times for transfers, better access to advanced levels of care, and reduced pressure on local EMS teams.

“We’re excited to partner with Pioneer Ambulance to enhance patient care and streamline transfer services,” said Laura Gamble, CEO of Pender Community Hospital. “This collaboration will ease the burden on our local EMS teams—whose dedication and service are truly invaluable—while improving access and response times for our patients. We’re grateful for everything our EMS providers do and proud to support them through this important step forward.”

Pioneer Ambulance is known not only for its state-of-the-art equipment but also for its commitment to excellence in patient care. They prioritize investing in their team, providing ongoing training and resources to ensure their providers deliver compassionate, high-quality service every time.

The dedicated Pioneer Ambulance crew stationed at PCH will be available at all hours to perform patient transfers from the hospital. When not handling local transfers, they will also assist other regional hospitals and support advanced life support 911 calls when requested by local EMS, strengthening emergency response efforts across the area.

“We’re thankful for this new service, which helps decrease the need for our EMS team to assist with non-emergency transfer services,” said Terri Malioux, Fire Chief of the Pender Volunteer Fire and Rescue. “This allows us to focus more fully on emergency response efforts and ensures that critical resources are available when our community needs them most.”

Pender Community Hospital continues to invest in partnerships that enhance patient care and community health. This new collaboration with Pioneer Ambulance is another step forward in delivering fast, reliable, and compassionate care close to home.
